Default Making sure PIM stuff will work

Please Login to Remove!

Hey,
Its been a while since I've had to take care of BES and other stuff, so I'm rusty. I used to work on 3.6.5, and in the mean time, someone upgraded to 4.0.2 (incorrectly, I might add, so I had to fix it first thing when I got back into it). Aside from that grief (I'm still getting prompted for the MSI... I gotta fix that problem still), I'm trying to get used to how the PIM sync stuff works.

We're running Exchange2k3, and my clients are running Outlook2k3 with the BB Desktop Software at version 4.1 something or other (I think SP1). Far as I can tell in the BB admin stuff, PIM sync is all turned on, bidirectional and all that jazz. What do I need to do to make sure it works like magic for everything? (I've found that calender items work, I just need to make sure address book stuff and other things are working as well)

Its just that I have a very enthusiastic boss who wants all this stuff to work perfectly. Let me know of any common issues or any way that guarantees it all to work.

Edit: The address book thing kinda confuses me, I mean, it syncs Outlook's internal store of contacts (which Exchange doesn't deal with...) to the device. Doesn't that mean that outlook and BDM both have to be turned on (and the BDM know what PIN to send to...)?

Edit 2: Actually, Exchange does store contacts from Outlook. My bad.

Default

There are two things that break PIM sync. One is Exchange permissions, two is mapi/cdo mismatch. If you check both then you should be good.
