Default New Calendar Items Not Synching Up w/ Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,

we have BES 4.1 and Exchange 2003.... everything works well but for one user, new calendar items are not synching up with Outlook. Only three BB users and the others, they synch up sporadically. Any suggestions that I can check?

Thanks!!!

Go ahead and check the device and make sure it is set to sync up in that particular app. Also, check PIM Synch on the BES for that particular user.

Not synching from the bb to outlook? Had that issue - resolved with info found in thread about "One Way calendar sync". Has to do with either not the correct permissions on BES or a certain (that's what I don't remember, search for the thread I mentioned above) cdo.dll file that needs to be the same version on both the BES and exchange

Thank you for pointing me the right way!!! Did a search and was able to find some clues. Looked like this is one of many common issues in the set up that people were having. Here is the thread that I found one solution re: permissions on the Exchange server using ESM... hope that it will work.

darn!!! would not let me post url....

That whole CDO.dll issue during BES setup was far too confusing and really, really messed up. I wish RIM made that easier somehow.

Hi,

I am having the same issue with my calendar not syncronising, but working fine for other users.

After doing an enterprise activation, all existing calendar info appeared on my blackberry, but and new entries I put either on my blackberry or in Outlook do not appear on the opposite application (eg. new entry on blackberry does not appear in outlook, new entry in outlook does not appear on blackberry)

I have checked PIM sync, etc all looks fine, bi-directional syncronisation set.

It is working for all the other users I have setup, so far, on my BES (BES 4.1)

I have a 8700g blackberry, other users have 7290's. I have not tried this with another 8700g yet, but will hopefully get around to testing next week.

Has anyone got any pointers for things for me to look at?

When I was running BES 4.0 everything was wrking fine for all users.

For info:

BES: BES 4.1 on Windows Server 2003 (SP1)
Mail: Exchange 2003 (SP1) on Windows Server 2003
Mail Client: Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000 (SP4)

Thanks

EDIT
I have fixed my problem today, here's what I did...

1) Checked CDO.DLL version on both Exchange & BES servers (BES has to be the same or higher version that Exchange)

2) Checked that the "Blackberry Admin" account has deligated access on the Exchange Server & also the the account is listed under "security" for the exchange server (if that makes sense)

3) Deleted all Service bookes & resent from BES

4) Did a kind of Enterprise Activation (there is a way of turning wireless sync off & on from within the Enterprise Activation screen)

Blackberry is now fully working again & I am able to Accept Appointments & also Accept meeting updates too.

Default Maybe the same issue....

Thank GOD I found this forum!!!!

Here's my situation: I have Exchange 2003 and BES 4.0.37 (I think). I have a mixed unit base (some old 7100's and new 8700c's) and my issue is that this is a law firm and the users need to sync with their calendars, but they are Public Folders. So when I initially set up the software and point it to the Public calendar, it automatically gets switched to the "Blackberry Wireless Sync". If I play with it for a while it changes back to the Public calendar, but a few weeks later it goes back to the "Blackberry Wireless Sync". On the BES for allt he users I turned off every wireless sync option that I could see, but it still happens.

Do I need to check the cdo.dll and the other stuff? Has anyone ever seen this before???

HELP!!!!!!
