I would like to pick your brains for a bit on this.

In order for me to get my users to have their BB's synchronized with a public folder (which i have kept a contacts list of all vital personnel's Blackberry PIN numbers for disaster recovery purposes), I have to disable wireless for their address book and have them synch via desktop manager. These contacts are constantly updated (with users receiving new PINs, or users no longer having them) which has kept me from having them copied onto their personal contacts folder. I felt at the time this was the simplest way for me to get this onto their devices and also whatever updates I make. The only drawback is that contacts can only be synch-ed one way (outlook to handheld) because if I enable both ways, the contacts form the public folder are copied onto the personal contacts, and upon a seocnd synch these same contacts are recopied back onto the handheld (effectively doubling, and going forward, tripling, quadrupling, etc) the number of copies.

I'm curious if any other BES admins have implemented something like this and if so, how did you deploy yours?

depends on how many users you have, but one cheap and quick solution would be to share those users contact lists with you, and you just add them. you could also create the contact and email it to them. With Outlook 2003, if they open the contact, it automatically goes into their contact list. all they have to is hit save and close. personally, i hate public folders. They are an administrative nightmare.

Cool. Thanks for the replies.

It would be great if users would copy the latest version of our unique contacts list but relying on them to do that is a bit "iffy" for us. If there were some way to automate this, would be even cooler.
