| MDS has a few components. On a generic install, MDS allows for web browsing to take place on the BES server. What that means to most companies is that intenal web pages are viewable without external DNS mappings or controlling web browsing habits. There is another component of MDS, (not on the generic BES install) that will allow for 3rd party developement for creating apps like you descibe. MDS is not a requirement during install, but a small piece gets installed anyway for the web browsing stuff. |
