Default Hotfixing 4.0 vs moving to 4.1

Please Login to Remove!

We have been using 4.0 for exchange for about a 1.5 yrs. Seems to work OK but has a few issues- events on handeld end up a duplicates on handheld.

by the looks of the threads here, 4.1 is a pain to load and could create alot of downtime.

Are the 4.0 hotfixes buggy or do they seem to go in easily. I'm the IT guy only by default (nobody els will try it). We us an outside IT service for network stuff but they have limited BES experience and are expensive.

Thanks

We use 4.0 for Lotus Notes and we applied HotFix #3 for BES 4.0 SP4 without any problems. Not sure if it would be much different for Exchange.

I managed to apply all Hot Fixes & Service Packs to BED 4.0 for Exchange without any problems.

The upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 had huge issues with though! Up & running fine now though.

I believe (on the contrary) that the upgrade process is fairly seamless. I have had the chance (priviledge) to do it a couple of times and I havent faced any issues as yet.

4.1 has a LOT of options as compared to 4.0. My personal recommendation, go ahead with the upgrade.

We are sticking to 4.0 as well, as the features in 4.1 were not compelling enough to shell out the money for the upgrade, or for the effort on my part to do the upgrade.

Maybe we'll upgrade to whatever version is next.
