bes 4.1 - default folder redirection When adding a user in BES 4.1 for Exchange, I have noticed that the default folder that is enabled for redirection is Sent Items: User -> Service Access -> Choose Folders for Redirection Does anyone know of a way to change this behaviour so that Inbox is the only folder enabled for new users? Does this setting even have an affect? Thanks, Adam |
Why would you not what your users to be able to see messages they send on their handheld? |
Adam, That is a good question. It is that way in 4.0 as well. Sent Items folder redirection is on by default. If anyone knows of a setting or something that can be made so all new users get that unchecked that would be great. d_fisher, I don't want it because I don't want messages I send from my desktop appearing on my BB. It just clutters it up. I'm ok with emails I send from my BB to be in my sent items folder on the desktop. |
You can't set this for new users unless you change it when you add them. For your users, they can change this from their handheld: messages --> options-->email settings --> CLICK IN --> Folder redirection. Otherwise if you don't want the clutter, 4.1 Handheld software lets you hide sent messages. |

I'd like to see this as well, personally. Inbox + Sent was only introduced in BES 4.0, as 3.6 had only Inbox selected by default. |
d_fisher: I am trying to disable Sent Items for individual users as they are added to the BES. This is a standard request from my clients. I would just like Inbox to be checked by default instead of Sent Items for new users added to the BES. I understand that the user can change it later. I am almost wondering if that setting has any bearing. Of the 3 or 4 BES 4.1 installs I have done, nobody has ever complained about mail not being delivered upon first activation. |
Landed here via searching... So there is no option on BES 4.1 where you can set the DEFAULT folder redirection settings? The reason I was looking for this was that looking at all of my users (most are new users), they ONLY have Sent Items checked under folder redirection, not even Inbox. So I was wondering if that was off by default... I am assuming they are still getting inbox messages to their devices cause I have not had any complaints of emails not being received...... Anyone else see this with their users? I have BES 4.1 SP1 |
