Default green check-mark ("sent" indication) on RECEIVED emails

Please Login to Remove!

we're running BES on Exch2003

when email is sent within the office the recipient gets the email on their BB but with a green check-mark (indicating it was sent by the recipient)

also - the recipient, as indicated on the BB, is simply the first person in the TO field

???

anyone ever seen this before?

email from outside shows the proper icon

BB users can send email to ppl inside and outside the domain just fine

help?

thx

By default, the BlackBerry syncs the Inbox and Sent folders. The email is not being 'sent' to the BlackBerry per se. it is simply syncing that particular message to the BlackBerry because it is now in the Sent folder of your mail client.

To hide sent messages on the BlackBerry go to Messages > Options > General Options > Hide Sent Messages > set to Yes.

oh, i understand what you're saying - but that's not the case in our situation

they are really *truly* being sent this email - but it shows the symbology of having been sent by the recipient

just like i explained above

but its confusing as all get-up for them - they take a quick look at their BB, don't see any unanswered mail, and go on about their day

then they get chewed out 'cuz they're not answering the boss or what have you

so, of course, *I* get calls
lol!

but re-reading your post makes me want to go and check just what is in their "sent items"

they *shouldn't* have those emails in their "sent items"...

Do they have some kind of forwarding rule in place that is automatically sending the email out when the receive it? Have you tried a simple hard reset (removing the battery)?

no

even if they did, at the very least it would show the original msg as having been sent by them, and *then* the FWD'd msg

HIDE SENT MSGS set to "yes" -- new email arrives in BB and is visible, but still has check mark (indicating the recipient SENT the email)

???
