Default Frequency of SQL maintenance jobs

As part of some troubleshooting with RIM and Telstra today, we were told to run the weekly scheduled jobs on the SQL server manually.

RIM referred to this article: KB-04426.

Running these jobs helped resolve the activation issues we were having and the recommendation from RIM at the end of the call was that we should look to run these jobs daily rather than weekly.

Does anyone here have any experience of running these jobs daily:

Is so, are there any pros and cons? Our DBA will likely complain about running these frequently so I would like to be able to refer to other people that have experience.

I've heard of some admins runing these nightly. If you leave the default day retainer as descirbed in the mentioned KB, you are really going to hurt anything. Worst case is that someone loses some email or reconciliation if their bb has been off for 15 days or more. To that I'd say tough sh*t. Messages are still on the desktop, and if you didn't use the BB for 15 days, then those messages weren't important.

What email platform do you have?
