I am using BES 4.0 with Exchange 2003.

I am doing OTA Enterprise Activation. All the steps go fairly quickly, except for the sychronization of the company address book (2900 entries). Is there a setting I can change so that the address book is not synced during Enterprise Activation?

Instead of syncing the corporate address book to each device, make it available via lookup. Leave the BlackBerry address book to sync with the users personal address book.

Can you give me more details on making it available via lookup? Not sure what you mean by that.

From the BlackBerry Manager, open the properties of the user that you're dealing with, select 'PIM Sync', scroll down to 'Address Book', and set 'Syncronization Enabled' to 'False'.

I do this before every OTA activation. Once the activation is complete, I go back and set 'Syncronization Enabled' to 'True'. Before I started doing this, activations would take about an hour, now they complete in about 10 minutes. The address book then syncs at its own pace.
