Default JMIRC (and other tcp/ip app) disconnect problem?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys. I just got my BES Express box working.. version 4.1 of course. So far so good.. only took 4-6 hours to get the box up and running and added my blackberry with little issue so far..

But I have immediately ran into an issue that i wouldn't mind some insight into.

Essentially, JMIRC client will disconnect after a seemingly random time -- from 1 to 5 minutes on average, sometimes longer, bur rarely.

On BIS (BWC) this is not an issue..

I know this happened to friends on BES, but could not help them as I did not have a bes at the time.

Now that i have verified the problem -- is there any settings, tips, or tricks generic to any MDS/IPPP app running through a BES to ensure persistent data connections?

Anyone here ran into this issue and have any pointers to what the root cause of the problem might be? Thanks in advance,

Default

Here are results of more investigation. Turning on debug logs for IPPP in BES, the following IS the event that causes the problem:

<2006-07-24 08:31:57.386 EDT>:[1366]:<MDS-CS_BESSERVER>:<DEBUG>:<LAYER = IPPP, EVENT = Sending, TAG = 181207427, DEVICEPIN = XXXXXXXX, USERID = u1, VERSION = 16, CONNECTIONID = 483528200, SEQUENCE = 10, TYPE = ERROR, SIZE = 21, ERRORCODE = -1, ERRORMSG = [Connection Timed Out]>
