Default BES needs rebooting 3 times per week - 07-20-2006, 02:30 AM

Hi everyone,
we are running BES 4.1, with exchange.
only have 8 users on our BES.

BES is windows 2003.

Problem is we need to reboot the server a few times per week as it hangs, and users are unable to send/recieve emails.

Not to sure what to look on the BES for.

Has anyone had this problem, or what information would be needed to help resolve this problem?

Thank you

look in event viewer and and check for Errors at the times before the hangs. troubleshoot the errors. http://www.eventid.net/ can provide a world of knowledge.

Are you on Exchange 2003? If so what SP?

Sounds like hung thread issues on the agent. You can sift through the MAGT logs and look for "WaitCount =" messages.

Also you can check out BoxTone, we offer free health checks for BES servers.

or email me direct [email address]

Thanks

What is the version of MAPI32.dll is it 6.5.7226.0 ?
Are you using a 2003 GC
Check out the MS Article 829993, see if it relates to your problem

Restarting the BES every 3 days is not normal
Check the BES MAGT and the Event Application Logs for Services reporting Memory Leak
