Our users are set up in Active Directory by a link with our PeopleSoft HR app. The first name of the user is their leagal name and this cannot be changed. Here is the problem.
I have a user named George Smith who goes by the name Steve Smith. His first name in AD is George but his display name is changed to Steve and all is well in the GAL. When a user does a lookup for Steve Smith it returns George Smith. So its looking up using the display name but returning his firstname, lastname from AD.
It wasnt so bad until we hired a guy named Steve Smith who goes by the name of Bob Smith. If you can follow this nasty thing you'll get that when someone does a lookup for Steve (George) Smith they get a name and send the email to Steve(Bob)Smith. To make it worse the emails ment for Steve ( George)Smith are SOX sensitive so I have about a dozen suits having a stroke as we speak.
According to BB support the only thing we can do is fire poor Bob. If Lookup searches display name why can it not return the display name and does anyone know of way to change the way the name is returned.
