Default Cannot install BES - Logon Failed [ - 07-21-2006, 01:59 PM

Old BB server crashed (hardware failure), so I need to bring up another BB server ASAP. All preparations done, when installing BB server it asks for BB service user password. I enter correct password and that doesn't work. Since you cannot edit "username" field I logged in to the machine as AD admin, local admin, local/AD user and neither worked.

System: BES - Windows 2003, Exchange 2000/sp3. DC is W2K-sp4/Exchange-2000/sp3, cdo.dll is same version on both servers.

Here's what's in event viewer

If you old server hardware has crashed, have you got the database backup?

If yes,I don't see a problem buliding a new BES with a same instance name.
Read RIM documentation on how to do a Knife Edge Cutover for BES 4.0

Instructions differ depending on a Lotus or Exchange BES
I don't really get the below line",

"when installing BB server it asks for BB service user password"

Because the password provided here is used by the BES services ,since the BESAdmin account "Logs on as a Service"

Keep us posted of how it went!!
