I had this the other day. It seems to be indicating that there is a bad entry in the address book. I checked the entries in the address book and found one with no first or last name entered. Verfied that this was the one on the BlackBerry that did not sync. Deleted the offending entry from the email client.

Does the bad entry in the address book refer to the one on the exchange server or the users personnel address book or one entered on the BB device?

One of our users devices kept hanging last week when going into his contacts, I've ended up wipeing the devices today and when reactivating it it had this error "some databases failed to synchronize: address book"

BES v4.1 and exchange 2003

The only reason these wouldn't be the same is if you were using Shared Contacts (which do not sync wirelessly), or if you were not synching wirelessly at all.

So, it is referring to the users personal address book, which is on the server, and synchs with the BB device...

I went through a long spell of that when we went from nextell devices to T-Mobile, my findings were that all addresses and info were indeed being transferred to the new devices, however, I believe the DCID# (direct connect) failed because T-Mobile has no DCID. Thus, the error being generated relating to the address books. I have not had one user (only 38) complain that they were missing addresses or experiencing any funkiness in their exchange contacts. I may have falsely attributed this error to the DCID?
