Default Benefits to running the free BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have my own bandwidth, servers to include mail servers, (Ipswitch's Imail) and I use pop3/imap, not really any webmail. What benefit if any, would I get running the free BES for a single blackberry over the BIS I have with Cingular right now. With my treo my mail was instantaneous, as I used snappermail and a pop3 connection. I noticed there is some lag in getting email from the BIS at times, could I eliminate that by using the BES?

Thanks.

The biggest benifits you get with BES are no delays with email and full sync capabilities (email, calendar, address book, tasks, and memopad). Not usre if it is going to matter in your case, BES only supports Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise.

Also the BES must link to Exchange, Domino, Groupwise. It will not work with POP/IMAP

thanks for the replies. I will install Exchange and try it on a test domain. I appreciate the help.
