Default handheld software directory structure

Please Login to Remove!

When I try to add a software configuration I get -
"The specified path does not contain the requires handheld software directory structure"

I am trying to push third party apps and HH software upgrades.

I am not impressed with RIMs documentation.
I swear the author suffers from terminal ADD.

Try a search, I went into detail explaining this a few weeks back, but in short try this.

Place your files under directories in the apps directory, I'll use the BBToday as an example.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Applications\BBToday\BBToday.*

Then go to the AppLoader directory and run loader /index

Now share the Research in Motion subdir. You should be able to add it using the syntax \\[server name]\Research in Motion

I would recommend using the RIM directory as a template and not actual distribution directory though. Copy the RIM directory to Admin Color, Admin BW, User Color, Dept Color/BW, whatever. Have one dist directory for each software set.

That should get you started. Remember to create appropriate software policies for different user types as well.
