Hi .

I have just upgraded to BES 4.1 , i didnt installed the MDS .

I have questions :

1) what is the MDS for ? ?
2) how i can install the LCS , in the installtion i was asked for instant messeging service but there were only 2 options without the lcs , i have an lcs server already installed ( a normal lcs server) and i want to enable the BlackBerry users use this lcs server . i have searched in the documents at the balckberry web site nd founf nothing about how to install the lcs option , all the document refers to the server like the option is already installed ...
but i cant seems to find it .

Read the install guide and if you had met the pre-requisites for LCS you would have the option. You will have to uninstall and reinstall after you meet the pre-reqs

you prob mean that you didnt install MDSS which is used as a suite to develop BB applications, you dont need it. MDS is installed as part of the BES components, LCS is if you use internal microsoft instant messaging(communicator)
