We are currently running 2.2.6.12 on our BES. We are currently over our user license limit by a few and have already ordered the licenses from Cingular. I would like to upgrade to 4.1 tomorrow but I am afraid as to whether or not the server will stop working since we are over by a few users. Is this the case? Anyone else in this situation? Please let me know ASAP. Thank you.

stay put on 2.2 until you get your licenses.

BES 4.1 will work with more users added than licenses bought but it will remind you every time you open the management console that you are exceeding your license limit.

We faced the same problem not one week ago. We had exceed our licenses by a couple and for some reason this kept causing the server to act up and forcing us to keep rebooting the server. 3 times in a matter of a week. What we did was remove some users temporarily until more CAL's were sent to us. We then added the CAL's and then upgraded the software to 4.1. Not a single problem since. You might have some upset users because of this, but hey, what's IT good for if you cant upset some people sometimes?
