Default Installing BES 4

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Right now I'm reinstalling BES 4.0, pls correct me if I'm wrong:
1.Install W2k Server SP4. install IE6 and hot fixes
2.Install EX 2k, SP3, install hotfix for cdo.dll and register
3. Install mdac 2.8
4. Install BES
~~~~~~~~~~~
While I'm installing BES, i got a warning that it can load cdo.dll but I could continue the installation. After everything was done, MS Exchange Management couldn't start and freeze on starting but finally it started and my BES was running.
I rebooted the server, and then MS exchange management service hung again, msde couldn't start.
Any idea why Ms Exchange Management couldn't start?
Thanks,
minx
update:
After I installed MDAC 2.8, I rebooted the machine and then ms exchange management is on starting state for a long time. When I try to install bes, it give the errror cannot load cdo.dll again.
Can we use MDAC 2.7 insteads? Could we remove MDAC 2.8?
Thanks,
minx
hi minx,
you must copy the cdo.dll to %systemroot%\system32. it is not correct to copy the cdo.dll only to (f.e.) c:\program files\exchange\bin.
Default Correct CDO.DLL procedure?
The whole CDO.dll issue is one of the few remaining things that I still feel uncomfortable with when installing BES 4.
Could someone please detail the correct procedure for placing and registering this file?
Thanks!
