Default BES for Exchange & Bulk Hard-Deletes - SDR 65348

Please Login to Remove!

SDR 65348

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server does not completely process requests to remove hard-deleted messages in bulk amounts from BlackBerry devices.

Messages that users delete permanently from the Microsoft Exchange client are not always removed from the BlackBerry device.

Probability of occurrence
The probability of occurrence for this issue is high.

Monitoring the issue
The log files do not provide information about when the BlackBerry Enterprise Server stops processing the request to remove hard-deleted messages, so it is difficult to monitor this issue.

Limit the number of requests to remove hard-deleted messages in bulk amounts from BlackBerry devices.

The hard delete feature, which relies on notification from the Microsoft Exchange Server when items are deleted, is working as designed. There is no current resolution to this problem.

The Microsoft Exchange Server notification queue is a fixed size. Depending on the version of the Microsoft Exchange Server in your environment (2000 or 2003), this fixed size is approximately 29 notifications. When this notification limit is exceeded, some notifications might be lost.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
