Default Public and Personal contact synchronization?

Please Login to Remove!

We are running BES 4.04 with Exchange 2003.

On each BB we map Address Book synchronization to each users personal Address Book and also the shared contacts on the Public Folders (2800 entries).

I am trying to understand the synchronization process so I can solve a problem with contacts in the Public Folders being updated with old information.

Say a specific user has 200 personal contacts. Their BB will contain 3000 contacts (2800 public and 200 personal). If synchronization is set to Bi-directional, where do updates get propagated to? Does the users personal contacts get populated with 3000 contacts or does an update to a "Public" contact get updated on the public folders?

Thanks,

You can't wirelessly sync with public folders. WIred, the new contacts go to the folder that is selected as default.

Is this still the case with BES 4.1 SP2. I thought that I had read somewhere (of course I can't find it now) that SP2 allowed users to synchronize with an address book in Public folders.

Not that I know, of, check the SP2 release notes, it will be there if anywhere.
