Default Domino BES and Address Books Synching Practices

Please Login to Remove!

NEW to BES 4.1 was on 2.2 for several years ~100 devices. How are you doing your address book synching?
1. Roaming profiles
2. Replicate up to Server
3. Using Domino Web access and synching local NAB to iNotes

If you are using #3 did you train your users to hit the synchronize option from their fat Notes client periodically so that they get their contacts synched up from the handheld back down to their local names.nsf via iNotes?

Trying to figure out what the best option is.

Most user we have given them option #3. with training it seems to work.

though for exec who have an AA. we use option 2, that way the AA can update the book as well.

I do option #2 for everyone, a little hassle initially, but it's on auto-pilot after setup.

Early testing with option #3 had some issues. I work in an evironment where the avarage PC to person ratio is 3-1. I found that if you update to DWA from multiple machines, you get duplicates or triplicates. Don't know if that's still the case.

We replicate to the server. But we have always had the address book replica on the server. It is a life saver of the user's pc/laptop dies and has to be rebuilt. We don't want to ever have to tell anyone that have to rebuild their contacts!
