Default Upgrading 4.0 SP4 to SP5a on Exchange

Please Login to Remove!

Hi.

My BES is 4.0 Exchange, SP4 Hf 4. I wasgoing to upgrade to SP5 this weekend, but went to download it and all I can see if Hotfix 1,2 & 3 and a SP 5a. I can't see a SP5.

Can I just install the 5a Service Pack onto SP4 without going to SP5 first?

I just checked RIM's website and confirmed what you are finding. I would think sp5a and then the 3 hotfixes for sp5 would be the order that you need to go.

I'll try 5a...Not sure if I would need the hotfixs, as they should be in 5a...Wonder if I try to install them it will say "Don't bother" ?

Interesting thing I noticed, the hotfixes for 5 have a date posted later than the 5a posting. Did you notice that? You may have to apply them?

No I didn't! I've just put 5a on and it is reporting BES 4.0.5a (bundle 23) in Add/remove progs.

I'll stick HF1 on and see what it does...

Yes, you need 5a then HF1,2 and 3

HF1 puts it to bundle 28...
HF2 puts it to bundle 33...
HF3 puts it to bundle ??...

SP5a is SP5, no SP5 was ever released.

This entire discussion is lost me.
I am installing sp5a tonight, then going straight to hotfix 5, skipping 1,2,3,4. Is that what your supposed to do? Aren't all the previous hotfixes in the latest?
