I'll start by saying that I'm not a BES admin - I'm just a lowly lawyer at a law firm.

Our BES seems to be using a polling, instead of a push, method of delivering emails to my blackberry.

The evidence of this is that I get bunches of emails on my blackberry at random intervals, but not when the emails arrive in my Lotus Notes inbox.

For example, this morning I received 4 emails at 9:12 am and 6 emails at 9:25 am, and none in between. All of these emails arrived at different times in my Lotus Notes inbox; for example, the six emails received on my blackberry at 9:25 am, were received in my Lotus Notes inbox at 9:15, 9:17, 9:17, 9:21, 9:22, and 9:24.

Is this how blackberry "push" email is supposed to work? I thought the emails should arrive on my blackberry as soon as they are received on the Notes server. My push gmail (on BIS 2.1; Cingular) seems to work like it's supposed

Let your BES admin know, I do know there is an issue like this in BES for GroupWise but I'm too sure about Domino.
