Question Content Protection and BES Performance

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I am being asked to put in place a policy to all of my users (396 users). I know this will slow down the device but will it cause any overhead to the server? Currently running BES 4.0.3 HF3 on Domino 6.54 with my database on a separate server running Microsfto SQL Server Express.

Thanks

Steve

Default

This should have no effect on the server. This is a device specific setting.

As a side note... If your require device passwords you will lose the ability to reset the passwords remotely and security wipes will now take a lot longer (30-60 minutes). IMHO content protection is not worth the trade offs.

Thanks for the quick response. One addtional question. I created a second policy in which I am assigning user by user. If I remove the default policy will all users get my policy and if so will it spike the server sending out all of the policies at once.

Thanks Again

First, you can not remove the Default policy. Second, I don't know the answer to your question. I suspect there will be a slight spike as the new policy is sent out, but not much.
