Default Calendar Synch Issues - Complicated

I have an issue with one user and a synch issue. Also, the "one user" is also the CEO of the company <damn!>

We use BES Express 4.0x and Exchange 2003

The CEO lives in the mountains and in his area there is no wireless or cellular coverage - must be nice. He connects from home over VPN and makes changes to his calendar. Sometimes, when he is back in range, the changes are not reflected on his handheld - but it is reflected in his calendar in Outlook.

After making changes to a meeting from Outlook last night, moving the appointment from 8:00 A to 4:00 P - when the handheld was back in range, updated messages went out. All of the recipients had the correct meeting time, but the CEO's showed the original 8:00 A appointment and did not have the 4:00 P appointment - despite being the originator of the appointment. The handheld and Outlook seemed to be completly confused.

Can anyone offer any insight into this situation? Fortunately we are a tech company and the boss is very understanding of issues such as these.

BES:
mapi32.dll version
cdo.dll Version
Exchange
mapi32.dll version
cdo.dll version

2. which account starts the BlackBerry services? What Groups is it a part of?

Mapi32 6.5.6944.0
Cdo.dll 6.5.6944.0

Exchange
Mapi32 6.5.7226.0
Cdo.dll 6.5.7226.0

There is a BES_Admin user which is a member of the administrator's group that starts the services

Update the files on BES to at least the same version as the ones on Exchange. This is required for correct BES calendar functionality.

... check the BES-Logs for errors
... Netbios Name-Resolution? Can you ping the Exchangeserver with short name from BES?

... also be sure the groups who the bes-account is member of - are not included of admingroups.

e.g.
bes-account is member of domain-users
domain-users are member of print-administrators

I will update the .dlls so that they match.

No errors of any kind that I am able to locate.
No other issues other than this one isolated incident.

**SIDE BAR QUESTION**

When you have the MAPI & CDO's out of sync, what is the proper method to update the one that is behind? Is this documented? Thanks/Neil.
