I have had enough of users moaning that they have to put there NT passwords in when they browse the web via the blackberries so am trying to enable authentication to the proxy via MDS authentication.

I have set MDS authetication enabled to True and entered a valid username and password.

However users still seem to be prompted for there NT details (Name, Domain and password)

Do you need to restart the MDS service?

Yes this should do the trick! I had the same problem a while back also.

What settings did you enable to get NT password support in the MDS Connection Service? I have followed the administration guide to the letter but the BlackBerry handhelds just timeout when executing HTTP lookups. The E-mail and PIM synchronization work perfectly.

how do you type your username? try username@domain instead of domain\username

The issue I have is that the user is not challenged for his or her credentials. The BlackBerry Browser just times out.

Crowdie: Are you using proxy server to access internet?
If so, please try the followings:
Set
Support HTTP Authentication = True
HTTP Proxy Enabled = True
Proxy Auto Configuration = False
MDS Authentication Enable = True
