Default Help - Inherited a BES server

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so I just started a new position and I've inherited a BES server. I'm pretty sure it's running 3.6, and we run Exch 2003 on seperate servers.

The BES server is running fine, and when you login using the user that the last person used to manage it, and that user's password, you can run BES server manager and see all the users, add, change, remove users, etc...

But the CTO doesn't want me having that password, he wants me to login to the BES server using my own username/password and administrate it. I am local admin on the machine but not a domain admin.

When I login as myself, create the mapi profile using my e-mail account, and launch BES server manager, it connects but shows no users, has no info, etc.

How can I manage the BES server under a new or my username?

Thanks!

What about logging in as the service account that runs the BES? That will give you God rights in the BES Managment console.

For my 1st tier help desk people, I give them full mailbox access to the associated exchange mailbox that runs the BES server.

So, are you allowed to use the BESAdmin user login?
