Default Minimum BES version for Desktop Manager v4.2? - 09-13-2006, 05:23 PM

I put this in the 8100 forum first, forgetting that this was here... So I'll do it again, with apologies to the folks in the 8100 room.

Does anyone happen to know if there's a minimum supported version of BES that's required for Desktop Manager v4.2 to work properly? We're running BES v2.2.4.6, and so far have been getting Virtual C++ Runtime errors on Desktop Manager v4.2.

I was working with RIM earlier, and they've sent it back to their lab to try and replicate the issue, but the way they were talking it sounded to me like they think our old & busted BES version is the cause.

We are seeing it here too, BES 2.x and DM 4.2 don't seem to like each other.

Notes/Domino 6.5x or higher, BES 4.1.2.20, DM 4.x, OS4.x, Cingular, Nextel, Sprint, Verizon, Bell, Orange, Telcel, Vodaphone devices

That's good to know... I'm guessing that this is indeed the problem. Seems odd that it would be, but logic is pointing to it. RIM is supposedly testing and will get back to me.

On the upside, a member of senior management here who's a full-on gadget geek has been asking about the 8100, so we may have to do a BES upgrade for his benefit.
