Default Can you set up 2 devices on BES to access 1 user account? - 09-14-2006, 03:30 AM

I have 2 devices - M600i and 8707v. We run BES 4.1 on a server and Microsoft Exchange on another server.

Is it possible to point both devices to my account so that I can just pick up either device and go?

Thanks

Daniel

A BES is to 1 PIN. That is the data relationship for now. However, I do know that a Blackberry can host 2 email accounts... You need to use Desktop software to change the first email from "Desktop" to something else and then EA again for the 2nd email account.

Does that mean the answer's no?

I can have one device linked to two accounts, but not two devices linked to one account?

Bummer

There must be a lot of people who'd like to be able to choose which Blackberry device they use on the fly.

The real arse is with users who have shared mailboxes, you can only give one of them a BlackBerry!!!

Is there no way to set up 2 mailboxes in Exchange Server that stay synchronised to each other?

That would solve both our problems.

What would happen on conflicts though? Say user A files an email from accounts in the accounts folder and user B simultaniously files the same email in deleted items!!! I can see loads of places where this could fall down, and don't even honestly know how you could get the mailboxes to sync to each other. Interested to hear ideas though!!

I take your point - it helps me more than you!

I am envisaging being the sole user for both accounts so I could use two Blackberry devices, one for each.
