Default Security Policy Question - 09-14-2006, 11:18 AM

Hi,

We have a fairly new BES, which i have tried to lock down as much as possible from the beginning. I have come up against a small problem though. I set the rule 'disallow third party application downloads' to True so that people could download and install applications. Only problem is that some users want to install google maps, and i should imagine there may be other applications in the future that are requested. Is there a way to have a list of applications that are allowed? I still don't want them to be able to install other things, just ones that we have approved. At the moment, the only way i can see how to do it, is to disable the rule and re-enable it again afterwards, which is not really a practical solution.

Janine

The posts on this thread about whitelisting apps should help. If you don't want to push applications wirelessly just change the Delivery option to Wired.
