Default BES 4.0 - Junk E-Mail and Status Reconciliation - 09-15-2006, 09:53 AM

Can someone give me a definitive answer for status reconciliation for the Junk E-mail folder functionality within Outlook? In this scenario, spam emails moved to the Exchange-side Junk E-Mail folder are not removed from the users handheld. The option to Hide Filed Messages has been selected.

As seen in the logs below, the move is detected, with the destination being the -20 folder (Junk E-Mail); however, on the next line for detection, it cannot find that folder and thus orphans the message.

[40586] (09/12 08:17:49):{0x780} {user@domain.com} FindAndQueueAllMovedMessages - New Move detected, queueing for refID = -1521658752
[40561] (09/12 08:17:49):{0x16B0} {user@domain.com} Batching Move for refID = -1521658752, status = 0, current folder = -20, previous folder = -3, TransactionID = -945230845
[40599] (09/12 09:45:36):{0x1618} {user@domain.com} GetNewMovedMessages - Could not find folder entry id in folder list for refID=-1521658752

Server: BES 4.0 SP4

And yes, I'm aware of delaying the message processing on the BES side for a few seconds will fix this issue (KB-00139), but I don't really want to go to that extreme, especially as we're on the general eve of upgrading to BES 4.1.2 in production.

On the handheld, if you go into view folder, can you see your Junk Email folder?

I tested this on 4.1.2 and it seems to move the message fine.

Yes, and from the server as well. It's unchecked, although the Inbox is checked (only). I'm curious if this may be an issue with BES 4.0 rather than BES 4.1.

Do you have hard deletes enabled on 4.1, and is the actual message showing up in the Junk E-mail folder on your handheld?

I've experienced the same in BES 4.0 but i can confirm that it does work in 4.12 as i've tested it myself.
