Default 4.1 SP2 and alert storm - 09-15-2006, 10:44 AM

Took the plunge yesterday on SP2 in Exchange environment. (Was running 4.1 w/HF1) Update went smooth as silk.

However, now I get bes alerts every 5 minutes.

Quote:
<N/A> | BlackBerry Messaging Agent SERVERNAME Agent 2 (Application Event Log on SERVERNAME) | 09/15/2006 09:33:55 (6FFFC39F) -> 5 user(s) failed to initialize
I am guessing that these are users disabled in AD. We have over 1200 users on the BES. I have been all through the PDF's that came with SP2 and been poking around in the console trying to find where to turn these off. Prior to the upgrade, I only received alerts when the SRP lost connection, or one of the mailbox agents hung.

Any pointers appreciated.

Jim

Default I have the same problem - 10-02-2006, 10:54 AM

Looks like in SP2 the alerting doesn't work correctly, Even when alerting is set to Warning you receive Information alerts talso. I moved alerting to critical to stop the messages from popping up every hour.

Using the admin guide, you can disable this with a Reg Key on the server and also stopping the windows svc task. This would require a reboot of the server.

I have tried to use the alert service in the past but It didnt prove as useful..I have configured DDM in Domino to tell me whats wrong with that server.
