Angry All users on BES unable to send - 09-15-2006, 02:35 PM

One of our customers is suddenly experiencing problems with sending email from all of the Blackberries. They compose a message and hit SEND and immediately get a red X. This occurs for every Blackberry in the company.

They can all still receive email.

I have recycled BES and Exchange services as well as even rebooting the server itself and the same issue is still occurring.

Suggestions are needed!

Did you recently patch your exchange servers? Something like that happened in our organization after a security hole for exchange was patched. People could still get e-mail, but just could not send.

Open the message with the RED X. What is the message status?

I'm sort of having the same problem, excpet only a few users are unable to send. I also changed the permissions of the BesAdmin to have the sendas permission for all the bb users, but for some reason a couple of my users cant send email. Also besadmin is not a member of any admin groups, etc.. Oh and the error message inside the messages that cannot be sent says: "Unlisted message error"

Any thoughts?

Uninstall the Exchange patches you installed, then reboot the Exchange server(s), then read up on BlackBerry then Support for the advisories listed about the Send As patch from Microsoft for Exchange.

We had the same problem recently. I called M$ and the tech had me give Send As permissions to all of our users. When we created our AD structure we created a parent OU for AD accounts and then created child OU's for each section. Essentially, all of our users are grouped under the same Parent OU. I applied the Send As permissions on the Parent OU and had it propogate to all of the Child OU's.
