Question BES 3.6 Console sluggish with multiple WAN BES servers

Please Login to Remove!

Up until recently I have only had two BES servers in the estate, one in London, one in Paris. As the links between the two are pretty good, the BES Management console wasn't too slow to open up or when refreshed. However since installing a server in our Hong Kong office which is connected to the others over a more latent link, the console takes 5 minutes+ to open up properly. This behaviour is driving me crazy!! Is there anyway of hiding the other BES servers from the MMC so that it doesn't try to query them? Or is there any other way around this??

I've seen similar behavior with just two servers in the U.S. The problem is that the BES Management tool is trying to query the first BES alphabetically. I don't know what your naming conventions are, but that might now be your HGK BES.

Here's a workaround I've found: Before closing the BES Management tool, select the 'Blackberry Enterprise Server Management' entry in the navigation pane, above your list of BES servers. The next time the management tool is opened, you will get the server summary information relatively quickly and not try to pull up the Hong Kong user info from the Paris or London BES...

When I asked RIM about it recently, they told me that there was no way of "hiding" a server or setting a default BES for the Management tool.
