Default Bes 3.6 and 4.0 on the same Exchange 2000 server?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all. I have a 3.6 setup, 50 users on an Exchange 2000 enterprise server. I also have another 3.6 Small business license w/ 5 users and a completely different SRP identifier.

The question is, can I setup BES 4.0 on a test server with a 5 user environment for testing along side with the current 3.6 server?

I am worried that it will somehow cause issues with the existing system. I want to set this up to be familiar with 4.0 before we actually do the conversion.

Any advice or experience from others would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

I probably wasn't clear enough. I have a single Exchange 2000 server with a separate BES 3.6 server hosting 50 bberries.

I also have another 5 user small business version that I'd like to setup on a different test server.

What I was looking to do, was setup 4.0 on the test server (I have another SRP Identifier w/ 5 licenses) and have it work against the same Exchange 2000 server.

I guess the question is, can I have multiple BES servers working with a single Exchange 2000 server?

You shouldn't have any problems with that. If you're planning on sharing a database between the BES servers though, I'm not sure how that would work. Separate should work fine though.
