Default 4.1.2 Upgrade / BlackBerry Manager - 10-09-2006, 03:41 PM

I am in the middle of installing Blackberry Manager on a remote PC after a fresh install of 4.1.2

System Problem - please review log for additional information
Connection to database failed to initialize

I am seeing this error in the log.
Log: IsDbCurrent -
[30000] (10/09 12:46:02):{0x374} IsDbCurrent - Version from Datase: 4.1.2
[30000] (10/09 12:46:02):{0x374} GetScriptDir - Scripts loading from: C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\ConfigUtil\db\script\DBInstallScripts\SqlSe rver\

[30000] (10/09 12:46:02):{0x374} IsDbCurrent - No. DBVersion is [4.1.2], script version is [4.1]

[30000] (10/09 12:46:02):{0x374} [CDBWrapper::upgradeDB]: IsDbCurrent returned 0, IsDbCurrent flag = 0.

[30000] (10/09 12:51:02):{0x374} [PIPTOOL]: Exiting PIPTool from DBInfoDlg.
====== END OF LOG ======

I looked at the registry settings and confirmed everythings is correct. Ports, server name, username, etc.. ODBC Connections are working.

I am completely lost with this one. I have not found any documentation regarding and issues with a new install of 4.1.2
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the line:

[30000] (10/09 12:46:02):{0x374} IsDbCurrent - No. DBVersion is [4.1.2], script version is [4.1]

It looks like there is a script problem with the installer or initial startup of BB Manager. It correctly identifies that the database is in 4.1.2 format but the script that it then wants to run is 4.1 and as it is older than 4.1.2 it won't process it and the installer/startup fails.

I realise that the above doesn't provide a fix but it may point you in the right direction. Anywhere you can change the version of the scripts located in the folder it mentions earlier?

Not sure about changing RIM's install scripts. Isnt that proprietary? Good thought!!
