Default Proper way of reloading a Blackberry? - 10-10-2006, 01:02 PM

My 7250 has been acting up (its not syncing properly to my contacts). Because of it I decided to try out the "nuke" feature on my BES server.

Well the nuke feature worked great! My phone doesn't work, it says its running Blackberry Platform 2.1.0.33 and it throws java errors in many of the menus.

Im currently downloading the newest firmware from my cell phone provider.. Hopefully that will fix it!

When you have a phone that is acting up what do you guys do to resolve it? Is there a "reformat" procedure similar to that of a pc that clears out all the junk and gives your blackberry that fresh feeling?

Thanks!

When my bb or one of my user's bb acts up, I pull out the battery, then put it back in and everything works great again.

I wouldn't "nuke" a BlackBerry very often. I would reload the HH software with Application loader in the Desktop Manager software.

I've done that too and its fixed them in most situations. However it wasn't fixing mine. I had an issue where roughly half of my contacts were no longer synchronized. I deleted them from Outlook and they didn't leave my Blackberry. I manually deleted them from my Blackberry. After that point I had trouble adding contacts to Outlook, they wouldn't appear in my Blackberry.

In my second response I meant that I always first take out the battery.

I did HH software and it restored my blackberry. Seems to be working fine now!
