Default Cannot add new Users with exchange 2003 - 10-17-2006, 10:46 AM

After installing the exchange system tools on a seperate box from the exchange box and then installing the BES everything worked fine, I added 2 users and all was well. Now 2 months on I went to add another user (I have enough licenses) and if I try to add a user I cannot see the global address list, there is no options at all and noone is listed yet the 2 original users still work. TO try anfd fix it so far I have stopped the bes services and removed then re-added the exchange system tools but its still the same.

Anyone seen this before because its doing my head in and the support guys at O2 hadnt seen it either.

cheers in advance.

Only seen this before once when internal DNS was screwed and the BES couldn't resolve the Exchange server properly.

In the end we had to add a manual lmhost entry.

It doesnt have any problems resolving the exchange server as I can change the mapi profile without a problem. Dont suppose anyone else has seen this?

Yes mate, all permissions are still in place and BESADMIN has every right possible. I feel this is a MAPI problem but I have checked the MAPI version and this is at the right level (the same as the exchange server).

Default Had the same problem on my xp system - 10-31-2006, 06:29 PM

Trying to fix an issue running exmerge on my XP box, I replaced my mapi32.dll version (was version 1.0.2536.0) with the version on our exchange and blackberry server (version 6.5.7638.1). I noticed after I did that I couldn't see the GAL when trying to add users to the server. I have since switched back to the original file version and the problem is gone, however I can reproduce the problem by switching back to the server version of mapi32

May not be your problem, but worth a shot

Ryan

When this first started I noticed that the mapi version was at NT4 level, I already couldnt see the address list so I reinstalled everything to the correct levels. Not sure where to go from here though.

all you have to do is delete the profiles key and re create the MAPI using the blackberry config tool.
