Default BES Server IP Address Change - 10-17-2006, 04:49 PM

We will be changing ISP's in the next week, consequently the static IP I have mapped to my BES will change. Do I need to contact RIM with the updated address? Is there a document discussing this scenario?

Thanks

Shouldn't make a blind bit of difference, the connections are always outbound inititated from the BES.

The IP address of your BES is not relevant for functionality.

So does the BES server even need a static mapped address or just port 3101 open on the firewall. It sounds like it doesn't need a static mapped address.

Thanks again for your responses guys.

Two reasons why you may want it static:

Good practice for application servers

So that you can map the specific IP address of the BES in your firewall rule
