Default Quick cdo.dll/mapi.dll question about location - 10-18-2006, 11:06 AM

Hi all

I have been getting errors ref calendar sync going to replace the cdo.dll tonight, so same version as on exchange server. Do I need to do the Mapi.dll also.

I am right in thinking that in Version 4.1 I reg the cdo.dll in

c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin

Not c:\windows\system32 as per old versions.

When replacing is it just a case of delete old and reg new restart services and away we go

I believe you will want to shut down all BES services. Unregister the cdo.dll in the system32 folder and then register the one in the bin folder.

Mapi32.dll cannot be copied and must be installed by exchange system manager.

You can check in the BES MAGT logs and do a find for cdo.dll, it will tell you which file and version it is currently using. Mapi32.dll should be listed right next to it.

Delete the existing CDO from any locations on Exchange and BES. The new CDO should be in Exchange BIN on the Exchange server and Exchange BIN on the BES (I also put it in System32 for good measure). Then register the CDO in each location on each server.
