Default 8700 series and using Blackberry Enterprise Server Software

Please Login to Remove!

I have multiple users using the new 8700 series both from Verizon and cingular. Every time I try to load the desktop software saying we are using the BES server it loads but the first time I sync the device it loses its service book and I have to resend it for the devices to send messages again. I can get around this by installing the Internet service install. However, the new blackberry don't act like there old blackberries now because when they are plugged into there computers they still receive emails in both there email and on the device.

any thoughts or suggestions please let me know.

First question..why are you attempting to sync through the desktop software...this can be done wirelessly. What's the BES server version? What type of BES is it - Domino, Exchange, Groupwise?
Your second question is related to device configuration - namely mail is forwarded when cradled/plugged inot desktop. You can change that setting to "Don't forward when cradled/plugged in"

I am using Bes server for exchange version 4.0.5.6. The reason I can not sync wirelessly with my device is that I have everyones mail being delivered to a .pst once they open there outlook. This keeps all of the emails from staying on my mail server. So when they add calendar items it is in there pst if they want a reminder. So they only thing I have them sync is the calendar but I get that error. The weird thing is I have about 50 7250's that do not have this problem. Only the 8700's.

As far as changing the option to not get emails when docked or pluged in where is that at and how do I do it.

Thanks,

Adam

On the Desktop Manager, look in the "Redirector Settings".

I'd recommend unrolling this delivery to a PST file if you're serious about bb's. You'll find it much easier in the long run. I appreciate that's an easy thing to say and more complicated to do, but you'll probably find it more effective in the long term for BB users. It was always my understanding that delivery to pst's casuse s real issues with BBs.
