Greetings,

We setup BES today and tried to setup our first Blackberry. We followed the instruction, and have not been successful yet.

It appears everything is correct, and if i send a test message to PIN from BES the message arrives immediately. If we send the test message via email it never arrives.

Any suggestions?

Assuming you've registered a device then try and send an email from the device. It should fail, then click on the message with the red cross next to it on the device and post the error message here..

I may not have something correct. The BB 7130e is from Verizon, and we were using the destktop redirector before setting up the BES. The only from email addresses I have on the BB are the POP accounts that were coming before and "desktop"

If I send an from default or from an internet account it comes to my blackberry. nothing from the outlook account does.

To check if your service account has the correct permissions, log onto any client PC that has Outlook installed (like your own PC - not the BES) as the service account, create an Outlook profile for the service account, then create a message and in the 'From' field of the email put in the name of anyone you've added on the BES. Then send the message. The service account has to have the correct permissions to 'send as' anyone you've added to that BES. If you get a failure, then it's probably a permissions issue.

we were never successful in sending an activation password via email, so we plugged the BB into the server via USB, and thought we had a successful activiation, but not sure, what is the best way to verify activation?

log onto the BES, fire up the desktop manager software and check whether the PIN code is listed against the user and the status is set at 'running' if no PIN showing or 'initialising' then not activated..

I logged into the account by creating a new profile for that user. The attempted emails had errored with the following message: (Note that I have replaced our domain with the word DOMAIN and the email username with USER). I cannot send it to the DOMAIN\USER but I can send it to USER or .

why would you send it to DOMAIN\USER rather than ? Can't say I've got aliases on my mailserver setup that would understand DOMAIN\USER

I did not set this intentionally. Do you know what I can do to correct this. Sorry for the delays in response, I have been traveling to India and am now here for 10 days
