Default Mail synchronization

I'm having an issue where mails that are read on Outlook still shows up as unread on the handheld. Wiping the handheld clean and reactivating, resending service book, regenerating encryption key, doublechecking the reconciliations settings (set to mailbox and handheld), and the same result. I've also tried restarting synchronization, database, and dispatcher services on my BES (4.0) and to no avail. Any other steps I can try? All other services seem to be okay and you can send and receive emails, and when read from handheld it shows up as read in outlook but not vice versa.

I did a search here and seems like more people have the reverse problem where Outlook doesnt get updated but here my handheld doesn't.

Have you waited awhile, like 10-15 minutes to see if the status changes? There is a delay because the BES treats it as a lower priority. In your inbox, click your track wheel and hit reconcile now and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, some of these messages have been sitting for hours. Reconciling doesn't work if the message was read from Outlook but it does if it was read from Handheld.

OK...sorry then, I won't be any more help...I'm sure there are some more educated BES admins on here than myself that will be able to help you.

Seems like it was more widespread an issue than I thought. i rebooted the BES server and all is well again.
