Arrow Daylight Savings in Australia

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all - Western Australia beginning next week (12/3) are going to start observing daylight savings. We have a massive user base in Australia with close to 500 users in WA alone. With this time change, how will the device know to update itself with the new time? This has become an urgent request and I'm unable to provide much in the way of answers. I'm not the primary BES Admin but am the support person that works these issues. My understanding of how things are set up is that our policy sets the device time when it is activated. If this is the case, how do we adjust this for only those users affected? Will RIM need to provide a service pack to accomodate this or is there another easier (and faster) solution?

All comments welcomed!!!

As this is my first post, I am not allowed to paste a hyperlink, even to blackberrydotcom. Go figure.

Apparently some companies have taken the crude but effective step of asking all users to switch their timezone to Tokyo until the patch is available. ??

RIM will not have a hot fix for this issue due to short notice.

KB11041 - Western Australia's 2006 daylight saving time issue
