Default Problem adding user to BES

Please Login to Remove!

I am running a BES server version 4.1.2.20 with several fully patched Exchange 2003 Servers. Everything is working fine with over 100 users but I am having problems adding 1 of my users to the server. I've checked all the mailbox permissions and everything appears to be correct. There are other users in the same mailbox store that are on the BES without issues. I am getting the following errors in the BES.
Quote:
{user@whatever.com} MAPIMailbox::MAPIMailbox(2) - OpenMsgStore (0x8004011d) failed, MailboxDN=/o=************
Then i see this error
Quote:
1 user(s) failed to initialize
Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks

Just out of curiosity...

Does this one user not have inherit permissions checked in the security tab on their AD account properties?

If they do not and are not inheriting the bes admin account's send as settings this could be a culprit.

Also make sure this one user does not have any protected or restiricted groups that they are a member of.

In my case the user is inheriting permissions and my BESAdmin account has the proper permissions on the user. I have had this problem in the past and the only thing in common is that the mailbox was migrated from another domain during a merger a few years ago. The only thing I've been able to do was export the users mailbox to a PST and then delete the mailbox and create them a new mailbox and import the data back. This method works but it causes all kinds bounced mail due to the autocomplete function in outlook.

sounds liek a GUID mapping issue from the old to the new. If only moving a mailbox to a new user, deleting the mailbox porperties for user A then moving back the mailbox would work.

I hate it when things liek that happen. Luckily when I did my migration we werent on exchnage so it was a tad easier.

Default Quirks

I'm in the middle of migrating from BES 3.6 to BES 4.1 and some users will not add and in some cases not remove properly.

If they don't remove properly what I usually do:

Have a tech stop by the desk and run DBclean (yes it's still a good tool) as the client having issues.

I had a couple users that even that didn't work so I moved their mailbox from one server to another, I realize not everyone has a clustered multi-exchange server environment though. In that case I suppose you last effort would be to dump the mailbox, remove and re-add, import.

Default Solution

Hello,

I encounter the same problem. Did you find a good solution to resolve this problem ?

I deleted the user and the mailbox, I recreated it, I deleted the Blackberry Account. I created once again everything and it doesn't work for 1 of my users.

If I create a new one or try to activate a blackberry on another user it works. I didn't do any migration.

Do you have any idea ?

Thanks
