Just sharing my experiences in case it helps someone else:
Having had major data issues on my Sprint BB while traveling in FL this week, I went about doing all the initial troubleshooting. Manual provisioning, manual register, deleting/recreating BES account, etc. Then, on the advice of Sprint support, I deleted all service books and then re-provisioned. I was able to get BIS to work, but all efforts at BES activation would fail (although sometimes reporting success on the unit). Additionally, as soon as the EA got partially complete, all MDS functions would cease working.
The short story is that I had a rule set up within Exchange that was moving all "@blackberry.net" messages to a sub-folder. This rule had existed for a long time, but in hindsight, obviously screwed up the BES due to the messages it needs to create in my Inbox being instantly moved. Deleting that rule caused everything to go back to normal.
I have no idea what caused the data issues yesterday, but everything is working better now.
Again, while obvious in hindsight, I'm hoping my stupidity will help someone in the future.
