Default BES with Exchange 2007

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone, I'm not sure how many people we have here running Exchange 2007, but I've been running it for a couple months now and I just found out that BES Express is available as a free download. Upon attempting to install it, it keeps giving me error messages that it can't find the Exchange server during install.

Then when I finish installing BES Express 4.1 and I go to start up the management console (I think that's what its called) I get a MAPIInitialize error.

Does anyone know if its possible to running Exchange 2007 with BES? Now I've read the article from RIM's BES Site on Exchange 2007 and I undertstand that it says that Exchange 2007 isn't supported, but it also says that there are people working on BETA testing it right now. Does anyone here know what it would take to become part of this BETA program? Or, is there a way to get BES 4.1 working with Exchange 2007.

This might help to solve your problem:

Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1

I haven't posted much here so i can't link yet but search google for the following:

mapi download exchange 2007

Quote:
Starting with Exchange 2007 Beta 2, neither the Messaging API (MAPI) client libraries nor CDO 1.2.1 will be provided as a part of the install of the product. As a result, there is functionality missing that many applications depend on. Microsoft Exchange MAPI and CDO 1.2.1 provide access to these APIs, which, in turn, provide access to the contents of MAPI stores.

That looks like it will do the trick. Unfortunately I won't be able to test this for a couple of days, but when I do I'll make sure to come back and post the results.

Thank you very much for the heads up!

Are there people who successfully have BES running with Exchange 2007?
