Default BES Failover using DoubleTake

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone successfully implemented BES failover using DoubleTake? The web site claims it works, but so far we have not been successful in making it work. We have worked with DoubleTake and Blackberry support to no avail.

Our primary BES server is in our headquarters and our failover BES server is in our DR site. When we failover using DoubleTake all of the services start and seem to work, except for the MDS service. The MDS service stops with the following error:

<2006-12-13 17:16:28.266 EST>:[12]:<MDS-CS_SERVERNAMEXYZ_MDS-CS_1>:<ERROR>:<LAYER = SCM, MACHINENAME_MISMATCH>

I am interested in knowing if other people have been able to sucessfully implement BES failover using DoubleTake.

Thanks.

It seems like your primary and DR computers have different names? The error seems to complain "MACHINENAME_MISMATCH". Checkout the "MDSConfig" table for the server record, once failover you will need to change it manually for the "MachineName" column (I think so). You may like to verify if DoubleTake does this change automatically for you.
