Red face Enterprise Activation issues

Please Login to Remove!

I am having some weird issues with EA. Phones don't seem to be able to connect to our BES via EA anymore yet the phones that are on our system (65 of them) send and recieve emails without any problems.

I checked our ISA server and see that port 3101 is doing its job in connecting to RIM at 206.51.26.xxx when the BES server starts up and disconnects when it's shut down.

I am at a loss and am open to any suggestions. All the services are running, I have even restarted BES to see if that was the issue but it's still not doing the EA.

Is the ETP message sitting in your inbox and not getting picked up?

Try removing yourself from the BES server and do an EA see if the etp message is getting modified or if it is making it. Maybe getting blocked by virus/spam filter.

Default EA issues

Hello

One thing that's giving me some problems is my anti-spam service, which greylists unknown emails the first time they go through... Sometimes the message sent by the device to the BES is delayed 10 minutes, allowing the enterprise activation procedure to time-out.

I just go into my anti-spam console and white list everything from *@*.blackberry.net and that does the trick.

Once the handheld is registered, everything's cool...

Hope this helps

Exactly what I do too. Rig the anti-SPAM to let it through and stop the AV from altering or removing the .DAT files.

I don't know what you mean by ETP? I will check the spam server.

When you activate a BlackBerry an email is sent from RIM to the users mailbox. We call this the ETP message and the message has an attachment with a .DAT file entention. The email will be from a BlackBerry.net email address. Make sure the email is not being flagged up as SPAM and that the .DAT file is getting through your Anti Virus.

That's great if you want to open yourself up to exploits. Might want to check into WHY your anti-spam filters are flagging the etp emails to start with. Could be because they are coming from a domain that doesn't include A records.
